Latvia wins in the competition of the European Association of Hotel and Tourism Schools
On October 8-13 (2012), in Ohrid, Macedonia 25th Annual Conference of the European Association of Hotel and Tourism Schools (AEHT) was held engaging more than 600 participants from 30 countries. During the conference skills competitions for vocational education students were arranged in eight disciplines. Latvia was represented by seven students: four from Riga Food Producers Vocational School (Rīgas Pārtikas ražotāju vidusskola) and three students from Kuldiga Technology and Tourism Vocational Secondary School (Kuldīgas Tehnoloģiju un tūrisma profesionālā vidusskola).
The Latvian students took part in four competitions – Culinary Art, Pastry, Restaurant Service and Wine Serving, Tourist Destination – and competed with at least 30 teams.
More achievements Latvian students gained in the competitions of culinary art, pastry and tourist destination.
Culinary Art:
- golden medal was awarded to Kristaps Sarma, Riga Food Producers Vocational School.
Pastry:
- silver medal was awarded to Rūta Zaļecka, Kuldiga Technology and Tourism Vocational Secondary School.
Tourist Destination:
- golden medal was awarded to Krista Veinberga, Kuldiga Technology and Tourism Vocational Secondary School;
- silver medal was awarded to Toms Gaidulis, Riga Food Producers Vocational School.
