Discussion on the dual vocational training model development in Latvia (05.06.2013)
On the 5th of June Employers’ Confederation of Latvia has organised round table discussions, where it was discussed how should look work experience and practice-based vocational education (dual education) in Latvia .
Discussion was organised by Ministry of Educations and Science (republic of Latvia) in cooperation with Embassy of Germany. In the discussion participated: representatives from the Ministry of Education and Science (Republic of Latvia), representatives from Embassy of Germany in Latvia, Hamburg Chamber of Commerce, German entrepreneurs, Employers’ Confederation of Latvia, Latvian Chamber of Commerce, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Republic of Latvia), The Foreign Investors’ Council in Latvia, Latvian Chamber of Crafts, as well as representatives from education institutions.
During the discussion, participants were introduced to the implementation of German dual vocational training experience, as well as discussed the prospects of pilot launching of Latvian dual education. The round table discussion was organised by implementing the memorandum on cooperation in vocational education and training in Europe. The memorandum was signed with Federal Ministry of Education and Research of Germany in 10-11 December, 2012.
