Approved EUR 6.5 million for further education of teachers in vocational education institutions
On 3 May 2016, the government approved “The implementing regulation of the operational programme “Growth and Employment”, the specific objective 8.5.3. “Ensuring effective management of vocational education institutions and the development of professional competence of its personnel”. The total planned funding is EUR 6.5 million, including EUR 5.5 million from the European Social Fund and almost EUR 1 million as national public co-financing.
The project consists of support measures for educational institutions implementing initial and continuing vocational education or vocationally oriented education programs. The planned activities aim at:
- Implementing the principles of effective management;
- Updating the development strategy and accordingly elaborating a human resource development plan;
- Improving the general and professional competences of vocational education teachers, practice mentors and masters of crafts, mentors in work-based learning, and administrative personnel;
- Supporting measures for representatives of industries to increase their capacity in quality evaluation of vocational education and examination.
The project will be implemented by the National Centre for Education. In addition, as project partners will be involved educational institutions providing initial vocational education programs (priority will be given to vocational education competence centres and technical colleges) and the State Education Quality Service.
The project shall be implemented till 31 December 2022.
