EQAVET indicators and basic principles will be implemented in Latvian vocational education
From April 2016, the State Education Quality Service as the Latvian national coordinator of the European Quality Assurance Reference Framework for Vocational Education and Training (EQAVET) is implementing the Erasmus+ project “Indicators of European Quality Assurance Framework for Vocational Education and Continuing Vocational Education and Their Implementation”.
These are the main activities planned in the project:
- Elaboration of guidelines for the implementation of EQAVET indicators;
- Preparation of an informative brochure about EQAVET in Latvian and English;
- Seminars for stakeholders to discuss the quality culture in educational institutions, the feasibility of introducing EQAVET indicators in Latvian education, as well as to deepen the participants understanding of quality assurance and assessment in vocational education.
The participants of the the project are state institutions (Ministry of Education and Science, National Centre for Education, State Employment Agency) and social partners (Latvian Employers’ Confederation, Latvian Free Trade Union Confederation), as well as sectoral expert councils, educational institutions, and employers.
