International conference to discuss the results of the Baltic Alliance for Apprenticeships
25 January 2017, an international conference “Baltic Alliance for Apprenticeships for Innovative Vocational Education and Training” (BAfA for Innovative VET) took place at the hotel “Radisson Blu Hotel Latvia”.
The conference was organized by the Ministry of Education and Science (hereinafter – MES) in cooperation with the Employers’ Confederation of Latvia as the closing event of the EU Erasmus + project “National Authorities for Apprenticeships: Implementing Work Based Learning in Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia” (WBL-Balt, coordinated by MES).
During the conference, the Baltic States’ delegations and international partners discussed issues essential for VET development in Europe, as well as the cooperation of the Baltic countries in the common European context, with particular emphasis on work-based learning concerning the internationalization, innovation and excellence in VET.
The conference participants – partners from Lithuania, Estonia, the European Commission, the International Labour Organisation, employers and VET teachers and students expressed their acknowledgment of the successful Baltic co-operation in the development of work based learning. To sum up the progress, the conference participants agreed that excellence in education is not possible without cooperation and learning from the experience of other countries.
