Preparation has started for mastery competition for young professionals “EuroSkills 2018”
State Education Development Agency (SEDA) organized workshop “Professional development for experts” on 18 July 2018, in which “EuroSkills 2018” Latvian team experts met for the first time to familiarize themselves with main tasks of the competition.
During the meeting experts learned theoretical knowledge as well as practically dealt with non-standard situations.
International mastery competition for young professionals “EuroSkills 2018” will take place in Budapest from 26 to 28 September 2018 and nearly 600 young professionals from 28 European countries will take part in this competition. Ten candidates will be selected among twenty-eight students from Latvian vocational education institutions.
Young professionals representing Latvia will be chosen from trades such as:
• tiling;
• fashion technology;
• information and communication technologies;
• electrical installations;
• restaurant services;
• Web page development;
• heavy vehicle repair and maintenance;
• graphic design;
• window design;
• cooking.
Each country may enter one competitor or team per trade. The competition is held every two years in one of the “WorldSkills Europe” member states.
