Application for Youth Guarantee training has concluded
Until 31 August 2018 candidates had an opportunity to apply for Youth Guarantee trainings. Youth Guarantee training organized is by State Education Development Agency (SEDA) since 2014. Applicants aged 15 to 29 could apply for learning programmes, as long as they are not full-time students or they are not on an academic or parental leave.
Participants were able to choose the following fields:
- Building and civil engineering
- Electricity and energy
- Materials (glass, paper, plastic and wood)
- Business and administration
- Chemical engineering and process
- Agriculture
- Motor vehicles, ships and aircraft
- Arts
- Mechanics and metal trades
- Forestry
- Food processing
- Hair and beauty
- Manufacture of textile, clothing and leather products
- Tourism, travel and leisure
- Health
Participants have the opportunity to acquire 32 occupations demanded in labour market in 22 education institutions in different regions of Latvia. Duration of all the training programmes is one year and they are free of charge. During the studies candidates receive monthly scholarship from EUR 70 to 115, learning aids and a free accommodation at dormitories.
After finishing their learning programme, candidates obtain professional qualification. In addition, candidates can acquire necessary certificate for a profession, for example, a certificate for: working with a cash register, working with the system for booking tourist services, etc (assuming it is provided for the chosen profession).
Project “Implementation of initial vocational education programmes within the framework of the Youth Guarantee” is implemented by the SEDA from 1 June 2014 until 30 September 2019.
