Latvian project promoters in the education exhibition “Expro” in Tallinn (1.-3.12.2011)
“Expro” is an annual exhibition and workshops about the European Union (EU) Lifelong Learning and Nordplus Programmes project results implemented in the Baltic States. This year the events took place in Tallinn on December 1-3 (2011).
Latvia was represented at the exhibition by eight projects that were implemented by: Agenskalns State Gymnasium, Dobele Municipality Education Board, Riga Style and Fashion Vocational Secondary School, Rujiena Secondary School, Smiltene Gymnasium, association “Imanta”, association “Cietokšņa kopiena”, Grobina Secondary School and Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences. Project participants shared their experience, e.g. regarding the ways how to make learning physics fun and lead a healthy and active lifestyle, how to improve employees’ professional competences and promote teaching/learning with the help of modern technologies.
The participants of this exhibition could learn about possibilities for studies and career, watch Estonian apprentices’ professional skills competitions, as well as to get acquainted with the experience of more than 50 Comenius, Leonardo da Vinci, Erasmus, Grundtvig, study visits and the Nordplus Programmes project promoters from the Baltic States.
The tradition of “Expro” exhibition was initiated six years ago by the Estonian international education programme agency Archimedes. In 2006 the exhibition was enlarged to include the Comenius, Leonardo da Vinci, Erasmus and Grundtvig projects. In 2007 it became an international event for the Baltic States and Nordic countries. In Latvia the first exhibition was held in 2010.
More information about the “Expro” is available at State Education Development Agency (VIAA) website. The agency supervises the implementation of the LLL Programmes in Latvia.
