Project about setting up a cooperation network in the system of non-formal learning recognition (2012-2013) was initiated
In March 2012, the EU Lifelong Learning Programme KA1-ECETA2 project “An integrated system for the recognition of non-formal learning: the establishment of the national cooperation network” (Val-Net) was initiated, and its activities will conclude on 28 February 2013.
Seminar for youth career specialists “Topicalities, tendencies and forecasts of labour market” (13.04.2012)
On April 13 (2012) the Information and Career Guidance Department of the State Education Development Agency in terms of Euroguidance programme arranges the seminar “Topicalities, tendencies and forecasts of labour market”, which will be held at the State Administration School in Riga (Latvia). The target group for this seminar is career consultants and school teaching staff that are specialised in promoting support for youth career development.
Annual skills competition event „Young Professional 2012”
During the international education opportunity exhibition „School 2012” (March 1-4), the National Centre for Education arranges the skills competition „Young Professional 2012” for the vocational education students of Latvia. The event will occur in Kipsala International Exhibition Centre located in Riga, Latvia. This year in 26 competitions 180 students from 50 vocational education establishments will participate.

Conference “Lifelong Learning – for the growth and well-being of Latvia” (27.01.2012)
On 27 January (2012), in Livani – town located in the eastern part of Latvia – the National Centre for Education is arranging the final conference of the EU Lifelong Learning Programme project LINKING with the title “Lifelong Learning – for the growth and well-being of Latvia”. The National Centre for Education is a direct state administration institution under the direction of the Ministry of Education and Science, which main functions are related to school education content and state examination issues.
