Meeting between Ministry of Education and Science, Latvian and German Chambers of Crafts
On February 6, 2014 leaders from Ministry of Education and Science met with representatives of Latvian Chamber of Crafts and Frankfurt/Oder Chamber of Crafts.
Cooperation between both countries in the context of vocational education, based on German dual education experience was discussed, in order to update the role of Chambers of Crafts and to involve craft masters into vocational education. Discussions continued previously initiated dialogue between Latvian Education and Science Minister Ina Druviete and Ambassador of Germany to Latvia Andrea Wiktorin in the context of cooperation in higher education institution level, acquiring German language skills and vocational education training. Executive Director of Frankfurt/Oder Chamber of Crafts Uve Hoppe indicated that even though Latvian and German education systems are different, work-based learning environment is an opportunity to assemble the positive experience from both countries for the good of our young people.
