Vocational schools will receive 104.7 million Euro for further modernization

On 29 April 2016, the regulations of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 249 “Regulations for implementing the specific objective of the operational programme “Growth and Employment” 8.1.3. ”Increase the number of modernized vocational education institutions”” entered into force that were elaborated by the Ministry of Education.

The regulations of the specific support are aimed at modernizing vocational schools and vocational secondary schools of cultural education. The specific support will be implemented in a restricted call for proposals in two project application rounds.

Funding planned for the specific support measures is EUR 104 786 645, including EUR 89,068,648 from the European Regional Development Fund and EUR 15,717,997 as national public co-financing.

In the first round the support will be provided for modernization of the learning environment in 17 vocational schools – state-founded and subordinated to the Ministry of Education and Science or founded by local governments. The second selection round will provide support for modernization of the learning environment in 10 vocational secondary schools of cultural education – state-founded and subordinated to the Ministry of Culture or founded by local governments. Projects shall be implemented by 31 August 2023 at latest.

For the implementation of the “Adult education management model implementation plan for 2016-2020” initially the 8.4.1. specific objective “To improve the professional competence of the employed persons” funding of EUR 27 million will be used.
