Conference “Lifelong Learning – for the growth and well-being of Latvia” (27.01.2012)

On 27 January (2012), in Livani – town located in the eastern part of Latvia – the National Centre for Education is arranging the final conference of the EU Lifelong Learning Programme project LINKING with the title “Lifelong Learning – for the growth and well-being of Latvia”. The National Centre for Education is a direct state administration institution under the direction of the Ministry of Education and Science, which main functions are related to school education content and state examination issues.

This conference is targeted at lifelong learning practitioners, experts, policy makers, and other stakeholders that would like to discuss lifelong learning opportunities in Latvia and European Union, to share experience, to learn from others and to promote examples of good practice.

The conference agenda includes a panel discussion and work in three working groups:

  • Skill development and use for promoting employment;
  • Active learning for fun and learner’s own needs; and
  • Systemic approach to promote lifelong learning and employment.

The conference is organized in cooperation with project partners – the Latvian Television, Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as education and consulting centre “Baltic Bright”.
