National competition for young professionals “SkillsLatvia 2019” has concluded
“SkillsLatvia 2019” competition for young professionals was organised by the State Education Development Agency (SEDA) from 8 to 9 May at Kipsala International Exhibition Centre. In the event 129 participants from 34 vocational education institutions competed for medals in 19 skill competitions.
Of all the vocational education institutions involved, Liepaja State Technical School received the most medals (3 gold, 2 silver, 1 bronze), followed by Ventspils Technical School (2 gold, 1 silver, 1 bronze) and Riga State Technical School (2 gold). Full list can be accessed here (in Latvian).
Participants took part in competitions, such as creative arts and fashion technologies, information and communication technologies, manufacturing and engineering, public and private services, construction and building technologies, as well as transport and logistics.
Competition “SkillsLatvia 2019” was held for the third year and was attended by approximately ten thousand people. This competition honours the professional skills of young people, promotes cooperation between vocational education institutions and strengthens the link between vocational education and employers.
The competition was organised within ESF project “Career support in general and vocational education institutions”.
